Donetsk State Academy of Music named after S.S. Prokofiev has Level IV accreditation and was founded in 1991 by order of the Ministry of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR on the basis of the Donetsk Musical and Pedagogical Institute, founded in 1968.
The main activities of the Academy are:
- training in accordance with state orders and contractual obligations of highly qualified specialists for musical culture;
- training and certification of scientific and scientific- pedagogical staff;
- scientific research;
- specialization;
- training and retraining;
- cultural, educational , methodical , publishing, financial and economic;
- Implementation of External Affairs.
