Mykolaiv National University named after V.O. Sukhomlynsky is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the south of Ukraine.
The University has four institutions of: physical culture and sports, history and law pedagogical education, psychology and social security; six departments: Biology, Economics, Foreign Languages, Mathematics and Mechanics, Child development, Philology and Journalism; and a college.
One of the priorities of international cooperation of the university is to establish and expand contacts in the scientific and cultural fields with foreign universities, scientific and research centers, both government and non-governmental organizations, associations, foundations, etc. The number of universities with which the University collaborates grow annually: USA, Italy, United Kingdom, The State of Israel, Sweden, Poland, Korea , China, Greece, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus , Russia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Lithuania and others. In 2008, in the oldest university of Europe - Bologna (Italy) the university signed the Magna Charta, in January 2009 it became a member of the European Association of Science and Education.
