Dnipropetrovs’k State Agrarian University is the leading agrarian higher educational institution having the 4-level accreditation for training specialists in agricultural production. The University’s principal objective is the integration into the world educational system to train specialists in agriculture. DSAU trains specialists in various specialties and award the following degrees: Bachelor, Specialist, and Master. In 2007, Dnipropetrovsk State Agrarian University took an honorable third place among twenty agrarian higher educational institutions in Ukraine, according to the rating of the Ministry of Education and Science. The University was estimated for both teachers’ proficient educational work, innovative researches and students’ achievements.

Dnipropetrovs’k State Agrarian University provides training, after-training, and improving the qualification of specialists for agro-industrial complex in 12 directions: “Agronomy”, “Veterinary Medicine”, “Technology of Production and Processing of Livestock Produce”, “Accounting and Auditing”, “Marketing”, “Management”, “Finance and Credit”, “Processes, Machines and Equipment in Agro Industrial Production”, “Ecology, Environmental Protection and Balanced Wildlife Management”, “Hydrotechnics (Water Resources)”, “Food Technology and Engineering”, “Forestry, Park and Garden Designing”. There are 5-6 special courses for students in every specialty. These courses provide students with background knowledge, strictly structured theory base, featured additional materials and practical training opportunities. The educational process at DSAU is based on a systematic approach and the principle of interconnection among the training subjects. This helps to develop in students a broad-outlook, nonstandard ways of thinking, ability to solve general problems in production as well as social and economic problems being mutually united. Today the University enjoys national and international renown for its scientific schools and research on soil recultivation, breeding pedigree pig and sheep groups, gene engineering and farm crop selection, using composites and elastomeres in farm engineering, and agricultural economics under market conditions. The proper functioning of informational technologies, computer equipment and educational technologies is provided by more then 600 modern computers in 26 rooms. All computers are connected to the local library net and to the Internet. Scientific research maintenance at the University is recognized according to the world’s requirements. The University has modern well-equipped technical base for scientific research, sports, amateur performance and recreation. The students are provided with hostels and recreation camps on the Azov Sea and the Samara River. The staff of the University is successfully integrated into European system of science and education according to the Bologne process requirements with graduates being in much demand on the labor market both in Ukraine and abroad.
